Council on Aging forwards three board nominees, weighs major facility upgrades
WELLESLEY — May 21, 2026 — Wellesley Council on Aging advances three nominees and weighs $55,000 in facility upgrades. The board voted unanimously to forward Corinne Monahan, Ann Rader and Renee Spencer to the Select Board for appointment, with Chair Barbara Searle planning to present the slate June 2 so members can start in July. Acting Director Kathy Savage detailed a $24,000 second-floor AV upgrade — reduced from $50,000 after Wellesley Media donated equipment — plus $25,152.94 in new Multi-Purpose Room tables against a $10,000 capital allotment, a $23,990 office reconfiguration, and a $16,359 main-room AV replacement. New Director of Senior Services Sehar Kiani urged the board to tap gift funds first, saying "I don't want to dwindle the formula grant down, because we do depend on it a lot for transportation." The board accepted $2,114.77 in April gifts.
