Wellesley Board of Health reschedules health needs forum to April 2

WELLESLEY — February 26, 2026 — Wellesley Board of Health resets community health forum for April 2 after blizzard wipeout. Community Health Coordinator Jhana Wallace told the board Thursday the rescheduled forum lands on the second night of Passover but is the earliest opening at the Wellesley Free Library, which books "months and months in advance." Health Director Lenny Izzo flagged a surge in food-service inspections, plan reviews and new establishments, and said the department will lean more on contractor Mojin Services through the NC-8 regional shared-services agreement as Longfellow's splash park opens. Chair Marcia Testa Simonson said the funding delegated for those SAPHE Act services is "lower than needed," and Izzo said the region still cannot fill its shared nursing position tied to the Parent and Newborn Support Services program. The board voted 3-0 to approve Jan. 22 minutes; Nursing Supervisor Ann Marie McCauley reported Wellesley has re-enrolled in the Vaccine for Children program.
